Financial Planning & Analyst Cost Accountant

Deublin Company has an opening for a full-time, 1st shift FP&A/Cost Accountant. The FP&A/Cost Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory costs and providing cost analysis to support operations and sales in contributing to the company’s success. The position will also assist in creating and maintaining product pricing for standard and non-standard products. The FP&A/Cost Accountant will also participate in the budget and forecasting process.

General Duties:
• Responsible for analyzing manufacturing activities and investigating variances and anomalies to ensure accurate inventory costing.
• Analyze monthly cost variances and cost of goods sold accounts to provide understanding of gross margin performance.
• Maintain and update inventory rates, as necessary.
• Develop, improve and maintain product estimating processes to support accurate pricing for standard, custom and developing products.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Marketing on estimating/pricing and cost reduction projects.
• Prepare month-end journal entries that relate to inventory.
• Manage local budgeting and forecasting tasks.
• Develop and analyze cost center financial reports. Collaborate with operations and sales to understand and act on financial performance.
• Support process improvement initiatives, as required.
• Utilize the ERP system (IFS) and related programs to write and build reports to support analysis and interaction.
• Provide support for other financial analysis projects as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Strong analytical skills.
• An attention to detail and an ability to understand concepts more broadly and strategically.
• Efficient communication skills, adaptable for collaborating across departments and functions.
• High level Excel skills

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; plus 10 years minimum experience in financial or relevant business disciplines with strong experience in cost accounting in a discreet manufacturing environment.


Physical Demands:
• Usual office working conditions, 100%-time presential.
